ISSUES

According to the federal government, in 2015 motor vehicle crashes claimed more than 35,000 lives. Further, these crashes are responsible for millions of injuries and impose a comprehensive cost to society of $836 billion in property loss, medical and emergency bills, productivity loss, lost quality of life, and other related costs.

As new data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration becomes available, we will update the issue pages accordingly. Please use our 2017 Roadmap of State Highway Safety Laws for the most current data in the meantime.
