Latest news
MO: Speeding is a factor in 33% of traffic fatalities in state. Raising the speed limit to 75 mph on rural interstates and freeways would further endanger drivers. Higher speeds are more deadly. We urge @GovMikeKehoe to veto SB 1408. Read more:

Thank you @RepRickLarsen @RepCarbajal @RepMoulton @RepAndreCarson & @RepJerryNadler for speaking in opposition to proposed exemptions to truck size and weight limits during last week's markup of the Build America 250 Act in the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee.
@RepChuyGarcia deserves thanks for sponsoring an amdt. req. a human fallback driver in AV transit vehicles & @RepNellie for speaking in favor of it. Comprehensive fed. safety standards, redundancies, transparency & data collection are needed for safe deployment of any type of AV.
While we appreciate efforts to elevate safety in the Build America 250 Act, it still contains numerous anti-safety provisions including for ACMVs, truck size & weight increases, grant consolidation that removes Sec. 405 incentives, etc. As such, we oppose.
We are pleased that the Magnus White & Safe Streets for Everyone Act advanced out of the House Energy & Commerce Committee last week. Thank you @RepYvetteClarke @RepJoeNeguse for sponsoring this vital bill which is supported by over 85 organizations.
Congratulations to @RepKimSchrier on the inclusion of the Know Before You Drive Act in the Motor Vehicle Modernization Act, reported favorably out of the House Energy & Commerce Cmte. The legislation will improve transparency & safety for automated driving systems (ADS).
Thank you @RepRobinKelly for sponsoring the SAFE Exit Act of 2026, which will require @NHTSAgov to issue a Final Rule ensuring easily accessible manual releases for car doors. We are pleased to see it reported favorably out of committee in the Motor Vehicle Modernization Act.
