Pedestrian Safety
In 2023, 7,314 pedestrians died in motor vehicle crashes in the United States. Compared to the recorded all-time low in 2009, pedestrian fatalities are up 78%. In the same year, there were an estimated 68,244 pedestrians injured, which is 1.3% more than in 2022. This equates to a pedestrian being injured approximately every eight minutes. (NHTSA)
Bicyclist Safety & Other Pedalcyclists Safety
In 2023, 1,166 bicyclist and other pedalcyclists were killed. This represents a 4.4% increase from 2022. In the same year, an estimated 49,989 pedalcyclists were injured, an 8.2% increase over 2022. (NHTSA)
