On February 11, 2021, Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety sent a letter to the Hawaii House Committee on Judiciary and Hawaiian Affairs Members in support of House Bill (HB) 651., which would lower the limit of alcohol-impaired driving to .05 percent blood alcohol concentration (BAC).

This measure requires children to remain in a booster seat until at least age six. The letter also urged the Committee to further upgrade the law by extending the age requirement in the bill to eight and adding a height requirement of 57 inches before permitting a child to transition to the use of a seat belt in a rear seat.
