Advocates is leading a group of safety and public health organizations calling on members of the Washington State Senate to vote YES on Senate Bill (SB) 5002 which would lower the legal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) limit to .05 percent. Over 100 countries have adopted .05 percent or lower limits and while many have equal to or higher alcohol consumption rates as the United States, they have less deaths caused by drunk driving. In 2021, there were 670 fatalities on Washington state roads, and nearly forty percent of those (388) involved drunk driving. It’s time to get this over the finish line. Read our call to action here.
