Advocates Urges Alabama to Upgrade its Distracted Driving Law

On February 22, 2022, Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety (Advocates) sent a letter to the leadership of the Alabama House of Representatives urging lawmakers to upgrade the state’s distracted driving laws.  While Alabama has taken steps to deter this deadly conduct by enacting a prohibition on texting behind the wheel and on the use of devices by novice, young drivers, more can and should be done to reduce the prevalence of visual, manual and cognitive driver distraction caused by device use.  To read the full letter CLICK HERE.
