Advocates and other safety partners have written to U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Sean Duffy urging DOT to complete the rulemaking to require automatic emergency braking (AEB) on all new commercial motor vehicles (CMV).
Far too many people are killed and injuries are sustained each year in crashes involving heavy vehicles. Research has consistently proven that AEB systems can prevent or mitigate many of these senseless tragedies. As such, we urge U.S DOT to complete this rulemaking without further delay.
