Advocates joined safety partners in urging Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers to sign SB 248 to improve the ignition interlock device (IID) law by allowing people convicted of repeat drunk driving offenses and those who refuse a BAC test to install an IID sooner and obtain a restricted driver’s license.
Additionally, this bill provides for extended time on the IID when offenders violate the terms of the program.
