Advocates joins safety partners in supporting Senate File 3691 (Johnson Stewart) as amended in Minnesota. The legislation would establish a study on the feasibility and potential effectiveness of intelligent speed assistance (ISA) devices in reducing speeding and reckless driving in Minnesota. This bill, as amended to establish a study, is the first step toward addressing the issue of super speeders and chronic reckless drivers, whose actions behind the wheel put public safety at risk. An ISA device addresses excessive speeding violations by requiring certain speeding offenders to install and maintain ISA devices on their vehicles as a condition of obtaining restricted licenses or license reinstatement.
