AZ: Advocates Opposes Automated Enforcement Ban Bill

Advocates is speaking out against SB 1003 which would prohibit automated enforcement in Arizona. Automated enforcement is a proven traffic safety tool. Speed cameras reduce the likelihood a crash results in a fatal or incapacitating injury by 19 percent while red light cameras cut fatal red light running crashes by 21 percent. This is especially needed in Arizona which has experienced a 44 percent increase in traffic fatalities from 2012-2021.
