Advocates sent a letter today to the Chair and Vice Chair of the Hawaii House Committee on Transportation calling for enactment of HB 2267/SB 2443 that would authorize the state and its counties to utilize automated speed enforcement (ASE) on state and county highways. Speed safety cameras are proven to deter speeding and its impact and are recommended for state and
local adoption by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Highway Administration (FWHA), among others. We urge Chair Chris Todd and Vice Chair Darius Kila to advance this lifesaving legislation. Read our letter of support here.
