Advocates joined safety partners to call on key Maryland committees to advance Senate Bill (SB) 366/House Bill (HB) 107 to create an intelligent speed assistance (ISA) pilot program in Maryland for repeat offenders.

Speeding contributes to 29 percent of our nation’s traffic fatalities, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). These deaths are preventable. SB 366/HB 107 will save lives by requiring Super Speeders whose licenses have been suspended or revoked to use aftermarket ISA technology. Program participants will be allowed to obtain a restricted license with ISA program participation. This is especially important because about 75 percent of people continue to drive on a suspended license.
